Weinberg To Lead Restructured Comcast Sports Legal Department

Comcast Sports Group restructured its legal department, bringing over Phil Weinberg to oversee the group in the newly created position of Exec VP/General Counsel. Weinberg will report to Comcast SportsNet President Jon Litner and help out with the sports group's programming and transactional matters. Weinberg will remain as Exec VP/General Counsel for Comcast-Spectacor, the Philly-based company that owns the Flyers, 76ers and the Wachovia Center. Comcast Sports Group also promoted Amy Cohen to Senior VP/General Counsel, reporting to Weinberg. Other sports group promotions went out to Joe Pierce (VP/Business & Legal Affairs) and Cyndy Baxter (Senior Counsel, Legal Affairs). Comcast-Spectacor promoted Brian Rothenberg to VP/Senior Assistant General Counsel.
