Phelps A Media Magnet After Record Olympics The curtain drops on week one of the Beijing Games and the clear winners are Michael Phelps and NBC. The buzz around Phelps has reached celebrity status, and he is sure to be one of the most talked-about stories of the year. Wherever you look, he is there (or his mother, coach, sisters, etc.). For NBC, the ratings will drop over the next seven nights, but the Games are already being hailed as an unqualified success, with the N.Y.
