Suite Holders At Invesco Field Booted For Obama Speech
Published August 15, 2008
Invesco Field at Mile High executive suite holders "will be sitting in the stands" on August 28 when Barack Obama gives his acceptance speech as part of the Democratic National Convention, while their "customary bird's-eye seats are occupied by Democratic VIPs," according to Elizabeth Aguilera of the DENVER POST. DNC Committee spokesperson Natalie Wyeth: "We have exclusive rights to the suites, except for a handful that Invesco Field at Mile High will manage at their discretion, per the terms of our contract." Invesco Field Dir Of Stadium Operations Mac Freeman said that "contractually suite holders are not privy to private events," but added that Invesco management "received a block of tickets to use, and suite holders have been offered a limited number of general-admission tickets to the speech." Club suite holders also have been "entered into a lottery for tickets." Additionally, sponsors "making accommodations such as having their signs covered for broadcast purposes are also receiving tickets" (DENVER POST, 8/15).
