BOCOG Says It Will Encourage More Visitors To The Olympic Green
Published August 12, 2008
BOCOG VP Wang Wei today said that the organization would “encourage more people to come to the Olympic Green,” as BOCOG acknowledged that “not too many people” were visiting the area. Wang did not specify how that would happen. Sponsors have been frustrated by the lack of foot traffic on the Green, where they have built multimillion-dollar activation showcases. The IOC and BOCOG were scheduled to meet about the problem this morning in Beijing. Foot traffic on the Olympic Green appeared to be slightly better today, but still short of sponsor expectations.
