SBJ In-Depth: Tennis/U.S. Open
Published August 7, 2008
For two weeks in the late summer, the U.S. Open becomes one of the biggest revenue and profit generators in all of sports. While the success of the event can’t be debated, can any business lessons be learned on the courts in New York that can help improve the standing of other key U.S. tennis tournaments? The U.S. Open Series is one way the tournament “shares the wealth” by linking the event with several lead-in tournaments. Are there other ways the event could help revive interest in professional tennis in the United States? Publishing Date: Aug. 25 Ad Close: Aug. 11 Materials Close: Aug. 13.
