NFL Network, Comcast Hold Mediation Meetings Over Carriage

Lawyers from Comcast and NFL Network were engaged in a second straight day of mediation meetings in N.Y. yesterday over their carriage dispute. There was no immediate word on how the meetings progressed. The NFL sued Comcast last year in New York State Court after the cable operator moved the network to its sports and information tier. In February, the New York Supreme Court reversed a lower court's ruling that would have allowed Comcast to tier the channel and remanded it back to a lower court. A few months later, NFL Net filed a carriage complaint against Comcast with the FCC, alleging anti-consumer and anti-competitive treatment. Neither Comcast nor NFL Network would comment on the mediation talks by deadline.
