Ovations Inks Concessions Deal For Goodyear Spring Training Park
Published July 22, 2008
Ovations Food Services has signed a seven-year concessions contract for the Goodyear Ballpark & Recreational Complex, the Spring Training ballpark under construction for the Indians and Reds. Ovations will invest $1.3M in equipment for the 10,000-seat Cactus League ballpark and pay the city of Goodyear, Arizona, a portion of food and drink sales, said Ken Young, the firm's president. In turn, the city shares revenue with the two MLB teams. The Indians will start playing at the $108M complex 20 miles west of Phoenix in '09. The Reds will move in a year later. Ovations also has food contracts at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona, where the Cubs play their spring games, and Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Florida, the Nationals' Spring Training park.
