MillerCoors Selects Chicago As Location For Headquarters
Published July 16, 2008
MillerCoors “has picked Chicago as the home of its new combined operation,” and the company plans a "main office of 300 to 400 employees," according to David Roeder of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. An exact location has yet to be determined, but MillerCoors "has been evaluating at least three downtown buildings.” MillerCoors President & Chief Commercial Officer Tom Long said that the company selected Chicago “because of its available labor and its excellent travel connections to other cities” (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 7/16). In Milwaukee, Tom Daykin reports MillerCoors' Chicago HQs “will include the marketing operation.” The company will continue to have a “major office and administrative presence in Milwaukee, with hundred of jobs," and the local brewery "will grow substantially” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 7/16). A MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL editorial is written under the header, “Disappointing? Sure, But No Cause For Alarm In MillerCoors LLC’s Decision For A Chicago Headquarters” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 7/16).
