Blackhawks, CBOE Sign Multi-Year Sponsorship Agreement
Published July 8, 2008
The Blackhawks and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) yesterday announced a multi-year agreement that establishes CBOE as the team's presenting sponsor for the '08-09 season. As part of the sponsorship, two premier-location CBOE seats, which will be located on the glass at center ice at United Center between the Blackhawks' and visiting teams' benches, will be auctioned for each home game (Blackhawks). CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS' Lorene Yue reported terms of the deal were not disclosed, but CBOE will be mentioned "in conjunction with the Blackhawks in every radio, print and television ad, as well as at all 41 home games." The deal with the Blackhawks marks the second sports sponsorship in recent months for CBOE. Earlier this year, CBOE and the Cubs signed a deal to auction off 70 season tickets for a new seating section next to the dugout down the third-base line at Wrigley Field, "as well as seats behind home plate throughout the season" (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 7/7).
