Overnight Nielsen Ratings From Weekend Sports Events

NBC's coverage of the Wimbledon gentlemen's final earned it's best rating in eight years, peaking at a 6.5/15 from 4:00-4:30pm ET, and marking the best overnight for a Wimbledon gentlemen's final involving two non-U.S. players since '91 (Becker-Stich, 5.0/17). On Fox, MLB regional coverage on Saturday jumped to a season-high 3.4/9 overnight Nielsen rating for Red Sox-Yankees (78%) and Cubs-Cardinals (21%). The 3.4/9 marks Fox' best overnight rating since June 2 of last year, which also featured the Yankees-Red Sox, and is also up 21% over a 2.8/7 on the same weekend last year. Saturday's 3.4/9 coupled with last week's 3.2/8 marks the first time since last April that Fox' MLB regional coverage has earned better than a 3.0 overnight in consecutive weeks.
