Mannings Pay Visit to MasterCard HQs to Share Leadership Tips
Published June 24, 2008
Colts QB Peyton Manning and former NFLer Archie Manning yesterday morning at MasterCard HQs in Purchase, New York, "huddled with nearly 3,000 MasterCard employees ... to discuss leadership qualities and what it takes to become a champion," according to Vincent Mallozzi of the N.Y. TIMES. The Mannings spoke to a crowd of about 400 that "included everyone from the mailroom clerk to the chief executive." Some 2,500 others watched via Web cast "from MasterCard offices around the world, including England, France, China, Japan, Brazil, Singapore and Dubai." The Mannings "did not disappoint, wowing the business crowd for an hour by offering them advice on how to succeed in business through stories of their football family's rise to greatness," and in the process "created the kind of buzz that a football Sunday can generate." MasterCard Senior VP Samantha Ross Saperstein said of the Mannings, "I thought they were incredible. I particularly liked Peyton talking about having to be flexible when it comes to being a leader" (N.Y. TIMES, 6/24). Peyton Manning has been a MasterCard endorser since '04 (THE DAILY).
