Ring Tone: Burton's AT&T Car To Feature Team USA Paint Scheme
Published June 6, 2008
U.S. Olympic team sponsor AT&T announced that its No. 31 Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chevrolet driven by Jeff Burton will feature a Team USA paint scheme when it circles Pocono Raceway on August 3. The car will show the AT&T USA five-ring logo and images of U.S. Olympians Nastia Liukin (gymnastics) and Michael Phelps (swimming). The paint scheme was unveiled Thursday at the '08 Visa Championships in Boston, where Liukin and other gymnasts are competing. The car will tour the country in promotion of Team USA until the Pocono race. AT&T Dir of Olympic Integration Jason Simpson said, "Our whole focus has been how do we help provide support for Team USA and generate excitement around the team. When we looked across our other properties for opportunities to leverage, obviously the 31 car and stuff we're doing with Jeff Burton, our driver, looked like a natural fit. ... We think this sets the stage to kick off what is really an exciting season for AT&T."
