In Seattle, Percy Allen reported U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman yesterday in a filing "unveiled the potential witness list" for the city of Seattle's lawsuit against the Sonics. The list includes Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, Sonics Owner Clay Bennett and former Sonics Owner Wally Walker. Sonics Investor Aubrey McClendon and NBA President of League & Basketball Operations Joel Litvin will testify through deposition. Pechman tomorrow is expected to rule on whether KJR-AM's Mitch Levy will be allowed to testify as a witness for the city (SEATTLETIMES.com, 6/4).
THIS WILL HURT HIS POPCORN FUND: Cowboys WR Terrell Owens said that he "plans to repay" the Eagles the $769,120 he owes following his '05 suspension from the team. Owens, who Tuesday signed a four-year, $34M contract extension with the Cowboys, said, "I don't mind paying that. It's not a big deal considering what happened (Tuesday). They can have it how they want it" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 6/5).
BEN IT LIKE BECKHAM? MLS Philadelphia CEO Nick Sakiewicz tonight will begin a "biweekly chat with fans" on the Web site for the team's Sons of Ben fan club, www.sonsofben.com. The chats are scheduled to run from 7:00-7:45pm ET (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 6/5).
