New Discovery Channel Net Promotes Launch At MLB Ballparks
Published June 3, 2008
The newest Discovery Channel network, Planet Green, will have a presence at five MLB ballparks tomorrow night, when the channel officially launches. The biggest presence will be in DC, which is close to Discovery's Silver Spring, Maryland, HQs. Nationals players will wear green hats and 5,000 Metro cards will be handed out during the game. Discovery CEO David Zaslav will throw out the first pitch, and Planet Green GM Eileen O'Neill will present the Nationals' line-up card. Elsewhere, the Racing Sausages in Milwaukee will wear Planet Green T-shirts; the first 1,000 A's fans wearing green will get a Trumpet Puppet mascot; the Petco Park press box will use green paper; and the Giants will give T-shirts to the first 1,000 fans wearing green.
