T'Wolves Returning Coverage To KFAN-AM In Hopes Of Boost
Published May 28, 2008
The T'Wolves and KFAN-AM have reached a three-year agreement that will put the team's games back on the station on "which they spent their first 17 seasons," according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. The team had spent the last two seasons on KLCI-FM and it was set to enter the '08-09 season in the final year of a three-year deal with the station, but the team "had a window in its contract to explore other alternatives." The T'Wolves "undoubtedly are hoping this move will play a role in helping them get back on the sports map in the Twin Cities," as the team has "struggled with poor television ratings and a radio affiliate that had coverage issues." T'Wolves Senior VP/Marketing & Communications Ted Johnson said that play-by-play announcer Alan Horton and analyst Billy McKinney will continue to broadcast the games (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 5/28).
