Air It Out: AFL Soul Explore Playing Game At Citizens Bank Park
Published May 23, 2008
AFL Philadelphia Soul President Ron Jaworski Thursday said that the team is "exploring the possibility of playing a game next season at Citizens Bank Park," according to Ed Barkowitz of the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS. The game would be the "first outdoor game in [AFL] history." Jaworski: "I think we'll get the blessing of the league. Based on what happened with hockey doing an outdoor game, it would be unique. ... We're just trying to figure out how we can do it." Barkowitz notes the game would "have to be held in March and before the Phillies arrive from spring training," and Jaworski said that '09 is the "target and he would love to have rival Dallas [Desperados] as the opponent" (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 5/23).
