Rockie Top: Attendance Up 35.9% At Coors Field

MLB teams are averaging 30,687 fans per game through 667 games this season, up 1.6% from 634 games during the same time period last season. In the NL, teams are averaging 32,834 fans per game, up 4.0% from a year ago. Buoyed by their World Series appearance last season, the Rockies are up 35.9% at Coors Field. The Nationals also are seeing increased attendance at their new venue, with the team up 33.4% from a year ago. Despite sitting atop the NL East standings with the league's lowest payroll, locking up a new venue and securing SS Hanley Ramirez to a long-term deal, the Marlins continue to slide in attendance, down 16.3% to date. The following lists MLB and NL attendance through May 19, with comparisons to the same period last season (THE DAILY).
