  • MLB Attendance Up 1.6%; Rays Up 24.2% At The Gate

    MLB teams are averaging 30,687 fans per game through 667 games this season, up 1.6% from 30,203 fans per game through 293 games last year. In the AL, teams are averaging 28,169 fans per game, down 2.6%. The Yankees sit atop the AL with 51,389 fans per game, up 4.1% from the same period a year ago. In Boston, the Red Sox continue to find ways to pack Fenway Park (101% capacity), as attendance is up 2.6% from a year ago. The upstart Rays are seeing the largest gains at the turnstiles, up 24.2% after posting their best April record in franchise history, while the Rangers are seeing the biggest slide, off 23.2%.
