Saints Sign Multi-Year Sponsorship Deal With Cox Communications
Published May 20, 2008
The Saints have signed a multi-year deal with Cox Communications, which will serve as the team’s official telecommunications provider through March 2011. As part of the deal, the pair will promote each other through online, radio and billboard ads. Cox also will receive arena signage and use of team marks. Cox Sports Television (CST) will continue as the team’s exclusive RSN, while Cox Communications will be designated a Patron Saints Partner (Cox Communications). In New Orleans, Mike Triplett reports the deal means CST's regional exclusivity includes all Saints preseason games, the team's Black & Gold Scrimmage and coach Sean Payton's weekly press conferences. The Saints said that the agreement also indicates that Saints Owner Tom Benson "won't give any special treatment" to WVUE-Fox, which he is in the process of acquiring (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 5/20).
