Maloofs Using New E! Reality Series To Promote Businesses
Published May 20, 2008
E! Nework’s new “Living Lohan” reality series, which centers around Ali Lohan’s pursuit of a singing career, also will “serve as a promotional vehicle” for NBA Kings and WNBA Monarchs Owners Joe and Gavin Maloof's Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and their basketball teams, according to Marc Graser of DAILY VARIETY. During the eight-episode series which debuts May 26, Lohan will be “shown staying at the Palms and using its various facilities while producing her upcoming album.” Her brother Cody Lohan “will work as a ball boy for the Kings.” The Maloof brothers’ Maloof Productions will produce the series, its second after last year’s reality series “Bullrun” on Spike TV. The Maloofs are “hoping ‘Living Lohan’ will help put a spotlight on their resort.” Digital screens will promote the show at Kings and Monarchs games. Negotiations also are “under way to have Ali Lohan sing the national anthem at a Monarchs game, or at least to have her songs played during games, giving her additional exposure” (DAILY VARIETY, 5/20).
