Yao Filming PSAs Asking For Relief After Recent China Earthquake

Rockets C Yao Ming is filming two PSAs in Houston today appealing for fans to help with earthquake relief in China. One spot will be filmed in English and will run this weekend during NBA Playoffs television broadcasts. The other spot will be filmed in Mandarin Chinese and will run on NBA Playoffs broadcasts in China. NBA Senior VP/Community & Player Programs Kathy Behrens: "It is a straightforward appeal to direct people to the Red Cross. His personal appeal will be the tone." The spots are being filmed at the Rockets' studio with no agency involvement. Behrens said another PSA is expected from Bucks F Yi Jianlian, who currently is in China.
