Sports Nets Continue To Announce New Programs During Upfronts

ESPN Deportes at its upfront presentation, under the title "ESPN Deportes Reloaded," announced several new programming initiatives for the '08-09 TV season. The new shows include "Miercoles de Combate" and "Viernes de Combate," a twice-weekly boxing series that will debut in February and will be preceded by a studio show. Additionally, the net in September will debut "Chavez," a documentary centering on boxer Julio Cesar Chavez. ESPN Deportes in Fall '09 will kick off the second edition of "Dream Job: El Reportero." The net also is developing a show to launch this fall modeled after ESPN's "Around the Horn." ESPN Deportes as of this month is carried in 3.4 million Nielsen Hispanic HHs (ESPN Deportes).
GOLTV: GolTV during its upfront yesterday announced it is adding four original programs. The "2010 Report" will track global soccer news up to and through the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. "Soccer Cam" features fan-generated video uploaded to GolTV.tv. "Fantasy Goal" will center around fantasy games featuring players from Spain's La Liga. "Kings of Club" is a 10-episode, half-hour series that will examine some of the world's top clubs (GolTV).
