MVP: Bryant's Award T-Shirt Sets Sales Record For First 24 Hours
Published May 8, 2008
NBAStore.com, which Tuesday began selling T-shirts commemorating Lakers G Kobe Bryant's first career MVP award, sold more of Bryant's shirts in the first 24 hours they were on sale than MVP T-shirts in previous years. The shirt is made by adidas and retails for $19.99. Meanwhile, sales of all Lakers merchandise on NBAStore.com and at the NBA Store in N.Y. since the beginning of the '08 NBA Playoffs have seen a combined triple-digit sales increase compared to the same period in '07. Bryant has been the best-selling player at both stores since the start of the postseason. For the month of April, sales of NBA Playoffs and division championship merchandise at NBAStore.com and the NBA Store increased 90% compared to last year (THE DAILY).
