Published May 7, 2008
The Flyers are experiencing record growth across primary business areas as the team prepares for the start of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday against the Penguins. The team ranked sixth in the NHL during the regular season in merchandise per capita, and the club has increased its per cap by 30% during the playoffs. Also, the team's official Web site has seen a 73% increase in unique visitors and 104% increase in average visits to the site, and 1,000 new season tickets have been sold for '08-09. Flyers Senior VP/Business Operations Shawn Tiger said the team has not seen this kind of activity since it signed C Peter Forsberg in '05. Tilger: "Everything is popping. Right now, the focus is on leveraging the momentum for new season tickets."
