MLS Franchise Notes: Sounders Create Fan Networking Site
Published May 2, 2008
The upstart Sounders FC has created a fan networking Web site for ticketing that will "seat fans based on their personal interests that include everything from how they watch a game to which teams they root for in overseas leagues." Season tickets will range from $16-$35 per game, while club seats are priced at $39 and $75 per game. The Sounders this week will send e-mails to the 14,700-plus fans who submitted ticket deposits in order to "start the seating process" (SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER, 5/1).
NEW DUDS: Dynamo co-Owner Oscar De La Hoya Saturday for his boxing match against Steve Forbes will "accent his boxing robe with the team's familiar bright orange uniform color and wear the Dynamo logo on his trunks." De La Hoya: "Since this is my first fight as part owner of the Dynamo, I thought it would be fitting to represent the team" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 4/30).
MOTHER'S DAY: All mothers attending the May 11 Revolution-Chivas game will receive free admission, a complimentary flower and a "#1 Mom" Appreciation Certificate upon arrival at the gate (Chivas).
