Former Trail Blazers Exec Seeking New Oregon Events Arena
Published May 2, 2008
Former Trail Blazer President and Portland Family Entertainment Managing Partner Marshall Glickman is eyeing a "multipurpose cultural events center" in Bend, Oregon, that "could house pro hockey," according to Jason Vondersmith of the PORTLAND TRIBUNE. Glickman's events center plan is "in the 'tire-kicking' phase," as he "seeks out interested Central Oregon business leaders with big bucks and gauges the political interest for such a facility." Glickman: "Hockey may or may not be a part of it." Vondersmith notes if the "pieces fall into place" though, Glickman "envisions pursuing" a ECHL franchise. Glickman currently serves as a consultant for the basketball Euro League, and also "helps run" tennis tournaments in France, Spain, Germany and England. Glickman plans to build a house in the Bend area (PORTLAND TRIBUNE, 5/2).
