Quote of the Day
"In this case there were some things that I should not have said. I shouldn’t have used profanity. I shouldn’t have been as hostile in my approach to Will Leitch because it makes me look bad.”
-- Author Buzz Bissinger, on comments he made on HBO's "Costas Now" concerning blogs (WAXY-AM, 5/1).
AEG Wants Draft In L.A.
What will they go after next? AEG already has brought the X Games and David Beckham to L.A., and now Tim Leiweke seeks to lure the NFL Draft to its new Nokia Theatre. With the league’s two-year contract with Radio City Music Hall expiring, the draft appears to be up for grabs, as Roger Goodell admits he has considered moving the event. The proposed L.A. Live location and its proximity to ESPN’s new west coast operation seems tailor made for the event. With the net's ratings growth appearing to have slowed, maybe the event could use a change of scenery. But it is difficult to imagine the draft outside of N.Y. Meanwhile, Sportstars once again heads the list of agencies repping players selected in this year’s event.
