Candace Parker Signs Endorsements With Gatorade, Adidas
Published April 22, 2008
WNBA Sparks rookie F Candace Parker has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Gatorade, Parker's first professional endorsement. Parker joins Gatorade's growing roster of female athletes, including WTAer Maria Sharapova, volleyball player Kerri Walsh and former U.S. national soccer team member Mia Hamm. The deal was completed by Gatorade Dir of Sports Marketing Scott Paddock and Goodwin Sports Management President Eric Goodwin (Gatorade). Meanwhile, CNBC's Darren Rovell reports Parker also has signed a multi-million dollar shoe deal with adidas, though sources said that Parker "won't immediately have an Adidas signature shoe." Parker will be adidas' seventh basketball brand endorser, and will be "incorporated in basketball advertising." She also could "become the women's face of Adidas' training campaign" (CNBC.com, 4/22).
