Brewers Considering Development Ideas For Miller Park
Published April 17, 2008
The Brewers this season are "giving some thought to development around" Miller Park, according to Don Walker of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Brewers Exec VP/Business Operations Rick Schlesinger: "We recognize the development going on around ballparks and stadiums, whether it's Ballpark Village in St. Louis or the area around Coors Field. Each venue in each city has its own characteristics." Brewers Owner Mark Attanasio added that there is "potential for development." Attanasio: "There are really lots of things. Depending on the scale, the larger the scale, the more hurdles you have to go over." Milwaukee sports lawyer Marty Greenberg has "pitched an idea for construction of an action- or extreme sports complex, featuring a ski hill, restaurants and condo/hotel units on stadium grounds." Schlesinger: "We will move slowly and deliberately in terms of any type of master plan. But there is nothing imminent" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/17).
