  •   Roski Unveils Plans For NFL Stadium Near L.A.
The latest hope for the NFL’s return to the greater L.A. region is being put on full display today, as real estate mogul Ed Roski unveils plans for a new stadium in the City of Industry. On paper, the idea sounds too good to be true -- the facility would be ready for the 2011 season with the majority of the venue built into the natural hillside terrain, reducing construction costs. Also, all suites would be on the same side of the stadium, further cutting the bottom line. And Roski owns the land needed for construction, eliminating a large political headache. However, several roadblocks cast doubt over the project, including the California Legislature yesterday blocking an initiative that would have helped the city gain millions in tax subsidies for the stadium. Notably, the NFL is not involved in Roski’s press conference.
