Northern Illinois Univ. has named JEFF COMPHER AD, replacing JIM PHILLIPS. Compher previously was in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Univ. of Washington's athletic department, with "direct oversight of football and men's basketball" (Illinois DAILY HERALD, 4/16).

MEDIA: NHL Network Senior Business Manager JOE GABOR has been promoted to Network Dir. Gabor will oversee the net's day-to-day operations in Canada, including acquisitions, programming and producing original content from league events (TSN)....Yardbarker.com has named ESPN Digital Sr. Dir/Sales & Marketing TIM WARE as VP/Advertising Sales. Ware will report directly to Yardbarker CEO PETE VLASTELICA (Yardbarker)....The U.S. Bowling Congress named ESPN producer PETE TREDWELL VP/Media, effective April 28. Tredwell replaces TOM CLARK, who will join the PBA as VP & COO next month (USBC).
