  • Pats-Colts Highlights NBC's Primetime Schedule

We are playing along with the most over-hyped day on the sports calendar -- the release of the NFL schedule. From the media side, it is clear from this vantage point that NBC is the easy winner with the strongest primetime schedule, and that likely reflects the league’s intent to make Sunday night its premier under-the-lights package. NBC gets a stronger mix of teams and during sweeps there is Patriots-Colts, CBS' highest-rated game last year. ESPN's lineup certainly seems improved, but it still has a strange mix -- three Packers games sans Favre and too many non-rivalry matchups. Other highlights: the league shows faith in the Browns by giving them five primetime games and Bills fans are not happy the team's game against Miami is moving to Toronto.
