Fired Up: Eddie Sutton Considering Pulling Name From OSU Court
Published April 10, 2008
Former Oklahoma State Univ. (OSU) men's basketball coach Eddie Sutton Monday said that he is "disappointed his son Sean was forced to resign as his successor as [OSU's] basketball coach and will consider whether he wants his signature to remain on the Gallagher-Iba Arena court," according to Randy Riggs of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. Sean Sutton was forced out a week ago after compiling a 39-29 record in two seasons. Eddie Sutton: "That was the only thing that disappointed me. He won 39 games in two years." Eddie Sutton said that he has yet to talk to OSU AD Mike Holder about his son's removal, but added that he "isn't sure he wants his name to remain on the court." Eddie Sutton: "That's something I'm going to think about." The court was named in Sutton's honor in '05 (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 4/8).
