Coffee Break: Red Sox' Papelbon Featured In Dunkin' Promo

Red Sox P Jonathan Papelbon will star in a new Dunkin' Donuts ad campaign to launch the brand's "Red Sox Win, You Win" promotion. The day after every Red Sox win through June 24, customers will receive a free 16-ounce iced coffee or iced tea with any oven-toasted flatbread sandwich or personal pizza purchased after 11:00am ET at participating locations throughout Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and southern New Hampshire. The ad, via Hill Holliday, Boston, features Papelbon being congratulated by coaches and teammates outside the Red Sox clubhouse after a win and continues with Papelbon at his locker as a procession of fans continue the congratulations. Fenway Park on Thursday will host an event supporting the promo in which 100 radio contest winners will have lunch with Papelbon, Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia and manager Terry Francona and tour the ballpark (Dunkin' Donuts). Dunkin' Donuts Northeast Dir of Field Marketing Doug Koval said of Papelbon, "We wanted one of the top-known players of the team, but he also fits with the brand really well." The spot was filmed at the Red Sox' Spring Training complex in Fort Myers, Florida (BOSTON HERALD, 4/8).
