MLB Giants Second In Race To Remake Land South Of AT&T Park
Published April 7, 2008
A local development team comprised of Kenwood Investments, Boston Properties and Wilson, Meany, Sullivan “has narrowly beaten the Giants and their partners in the first round of design reviews for remaking” a 16-acre parcel of land immediately south of AT&T Park, according to Robert Selna of the S.F. CHRONICLE. Four teams submitted plans to the Port of S.F. in February, and a port-sponsored advisory panel that reviewed the proposals gave "slightly higher design marks" to the Kenwood-led team. The other two teams "scored far lower and don't appear likely to make it to the next round." The Port Commission "will review the panel's recommendation and decide which teams should go forward." Giants Senior VP & General Counsel Jack Bair: “We’re very pleased that the report recommends that we be one of the finalists” (S.F. CHRONICLE, 4/5).
TURNING TWO: The Giants and StubHub have partnered to launch the new Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace. The joint venture builds upon the team’s Giants Double Play Ticket Window at sfgiants.com and allows fans to resell tickets to any home game (Giants).
