Special Delivery: DHL Signs Sponsorship Deal With Yankees
Published March 31, 2008
DHL is extending the reach of its national MLB sponsorship by adding a local team deal with the Yankees. The one-year pact gives DHL a presence in Yankee Stadium in the venerable park's final year and during the All-Star Game, during which DHL also entitles the Fan Fest. The deal to become the Yankees' official express delivery and logistics provider includes camera-visible permanent signage behind first and third bases and the right to stage a DHL promo day at the park. In the delivery category, DHL replaces the U.S. Postal Service, a longtime Yankees sponsor. Adding the Yankees gives DHL eight MLB team deals; it also has a new sponsorship deal with the Reds, and deals with the Braves, Red Sox, Indians, Dodgers, Mets and Giants. IMG Consulting is DHL's sponsorship agency.
