SBJ In-Depth: Horse Racing
Published March 31, 2008
Like many niche sports, horse racing has faced challenges attracting significant numbers of television viewers. The industry has flirted with breakout years thanks to promising horses but hasn’t been able to maintain significant buzz over the long term. This In-Depth will look at the state of horse racing and how the issues surrounding viewership have affected the sport overall. We’ll see how sponsors are making horse racing work for them and how media partners are trying to promote events and attract more eyes. Finally, we’ll look at new tracks, the rising use of synthetic racing surfaces, and new forms of wagering. Publishing Date: April 28 Ad Close: April 14 Materials Close: April 16
