    MLB’s stateside season-opener took place last night in Washington, DC, and continues today with 14 games on the schedule. Today, THE DAILY presents part one of a special two-part opening section that examines the major stories facing the game. Last night’s Nats opener brimmed with energy and was generally smooth considering the extra security precautions caused by President Bush throwing out the first pitch.
