Under Armour Signs Deal With Univ. Of Utah Football
Published March 28, 2008
The Univ. of Utah football team is “making the supplier switch from Nike to Under Armour in a multiyear deal” that could be “in the neighborhood” of an eight-year, $4.1M pact the company signed with the Univ. of Hawaii last month, according to Dirk Facer of the DESERET NEWS. An official announcement could come as early as Friday. Utah will debut the new uniforms August 30 for its season-opening game at Michigan, and the jerseys feature a "single curved stripe on each shoulder with 'UTAH' emblazoned across the front and the Utes' drum and feather logo on the pants." Utah officials and football coach Kyle Whittingham declined to comment, "pending finalization of the deal." Utah will be the sixth college football program to align with Under Armour, joining Hawaii, Auburn, Maryland, South Carolina and Texas Tech (DESERET NEWS, 3/28).
