Yankees Sell Out $2,500 Legends Suite Seats At New Ballpark
Published March 25, 2008
Yankees COO Lonn Trost said that the $2,500 front-row Legends Suite the team is offering at its new $1.3B stadium "are sold out," according to Richard Sandomir of the N.Y. TIMES. The Yankees sent two offers to season-ticket holders in an e-mail last Thursday for the 1,800 Legends seats, which will start at $500 each and will be located in the "25 sections closest to the field, radiating up the base lines from home plate" and the 74-seat Club Suite, which is "four luxury boxes combined into one." The Club Suite seats will go for $700 and include food and beverage (except alcohol), preferred parking and concierge service. Two other premium ticket plans offered to fans are less than $500: the 1,200 main level outdoor suite seats, which start at $350, and the 1,300 terrace level seats, which are priced at $100, $115 and $130. Trost said that of the 47 luxury suites available, "29 have been leased, for between [$600,000-850,000]." Trost said that of the 48,000 nonpremium seats in the new stadium, "88[%] of those cost $100 or less, and 55[%] will cost $45 or less" (N.Y. TIMES, 3/21). Meanwhile, in a March 14 letter to season-ticket holders, fans were "asked whether they wanted to upgrade" their seats. Trost said that "more than 3,000 fans ... had already said yes" (AP, 3/22).
