Prince Featuring Jankovic In O3 Racquet Ads
Published March 19, 2008
No. 4-ranked women's WTAer Jelena Jankovic's racquet sponsor Prince is featuring her with ATPer John Isner to "hype its new O3 Speedport White frame," according to Sarah Thurmond of SMASH magazine. Jankovic also has an endorsement deal with Hyundai in Serbia and last December began serving as a UNICEF ambassador. Thurmond writes Jankovic "appears to have it all: looks, personality, and an A game." Thurmond: "Then there's her engaging personality. She's from the same dog-and-pony show as fellow Serb [ATPer] Novak Djokovic. ... Jankovic's routine has a bit more sass, and she's an unabashed flirt. She'll chat up linesmen, ball boys, even comedian Jerry Seinfeld if he happens to be sitting in the stands." The WTA awarded Jankovic with the 2007 ACES award for promoting women's tennis and "uses her to help publicize the tour any time they can." Jankovic also was featured in clothing sponsor Reebok's "Framed'' series on IFC, and Bosnian director Emir Kusturica has "asked her to be in his next project" (SMASH, Spring '08 issue).
