2K Sports Preps Spanish-Language Ads To Support Latest Videogame
Published March 10, 2008
2K Sports this week will begin a Spanish-language component to its ongoing marketing for “MLB 2K8,” its licensed MLB videogame released last week. The efforts build upon quickly rising interest in videogames among Spanish-speaking populations and the use of Mets SS Jose Reyes, a native of the Dominican Republic, as the cover athlete for this year’s version of the title. Placements will occur in several Spanish-language outlets, including ESPN Deportes. “We’re embracing our cover athlete. He’s very comfortable in his native tongue and will help expose the game into some new areas,” said 2K Sports Dir of Marketing Chris Snyder. “It’s a new thing for us, and we’re very interested to see what happens.”
