  • Tony Stewart Rips Goodyear For Race Tires
Long known as one of the most outspoken drivers in NASCAR, Tony Stewart only enhanced that reputation by lashing out at Goodyear in a post-race tirade Sunday. Noting the tires used during the race made his car tough to handle, Stewart, who finished second, says the circuit’s exclusive tire supplier should be “really embarrassed about this weekend and what they brought us.” Dale Earnhardt Jr. also claims the tires were “a poor choice” for the track and were responsible for a lack of passing during the race. Goodyear, which switched the tires originally targeted for Atlanta, says it will listen to the driver comments as it continues to improve the quality of the tires. But Stewart wonders if the company’s deal with NASCAR might prevent real improvements.
