British Telecom Signs As Fifth Tier One Sponsor For 2012 Games

British Telecom (BT) has become the fifth Tier One sponsor for the 2012 London Olympic Games, providing all communications services required to stage the event. BT also will be responsible for providing all communications services to the operational workforce and at all Games' venues. BT will receive exclusive marketing rights and the use of the London 2012 logo. BT joins Lloyds TSB, adidas, British Airways and EDF Energy as Tier One sponsors (THE DAILY). Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but a source said that the deal is worth about US$99M. BT will provide all Internet and land-line links during the Olympics and will manage all voice and data networks (REUTERS, 3/5).
