Allstate To Break Two New Ads Featuring Kahne, Allstate Girls
Published February 29, 2008
Allstate will break its latest two iterations of its popular “Girls Day Out” marketing campaign with two new national TV spots via Leo Burnett, Chicago that will air during Sunday’s UAW-Dodge 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Fox. The ads, which tout Allstate’s Your Choice Auto Insurance, once again feature NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kasey Kahne cast as the object of the Allstate Girls’ affections. The 30-second “Dennis & Kasey” ad opens with Kahne and actor Dennis Haysbert, a spokesperson for the company, standing near the garages at a track on race day with Kahne’s No. 9 Budweiser Dodge in the background. As the two promote Allstate's safe driving bonus check, a car driven by the Allstate Girls suddenly slams into the back of Kahne’s car. The women wave flirtatiously at Kahne before getting out of the car and posing for pictures with him. Meanwhile, the 60- and 30-second “Sponsorship,” opens with the Allstate Girls at a café discussing how they will spend the safe driving bonus check they received from Allstate, when one of them suggests she is thinking “sponsorship.” The spot then dissolves into a dream sequence featuring Kahne dancing in a music video spoof in front of his car, which is emblazoned with hearts and images of the women. The focus then shifts back to the café scene, where the women tell the waiter they are “satisfied.” The ads will run exclusively during NASCAR programming throughout the ’08 Sprint Cup season. Fans can also view the commercials online at Allstate.com (Erik Swanson, THE DAILY).
RAISING KAHNE: In Chicago, Lewis Lazare writes Kahne and the trio of women who are obsessed with him are “one of the most amusing acts in television advertising” (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 2/29).
