Amplify Seeking Title Sponsor For National Whitewater Center
Published February 27, 2008
Amplify Sports & Entertainment, N.Y., has won a review that began with 14 shops for the rights to sell entitlement and other marketing assets at the non-profit U.S. National Whitewater Center located just outside Charlotte. The 307-acre facility opened in November '06 and is the home of the USA Canoe & Kayak national governing body and will host Olympic Trials in April. Amplify is seeking low- to mid-six figures for naming rights at the facility, which boasts ''the world's largest man-made whitewater river'' and "the only class III-IV rapids in a metropolitan area.'' Other marketing assets available at the center are signage and entitlement to sections of the center or individual conference/training rooms, along with product sampling and integration opportunities. Amplify President & Founder Michael Neuman said he is close to sponsorship deals with both a beverage and an auto brand.
