In Charlotte, David Poole writes the AP is "sending out the results from this year's NASCAR races without listing the money each driver wins," and is instead including a driver rating that has "no relevance to fans." Poole: "The NASCAR public relations office is pushing this 'loop data' lunacy. The fact that the AP is going along with something so insane is beyond belief" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/21)....Walt Disney Co. has created a "new European super group for program, channel distribution and new media deals." The division, which will be headed by Buena Vista Int'l Television Exec VP & Managing Dir Tom Toumazis, will encompass Disney Channel, ESPN and Disney-ABC Int'l TV (DAILY VARIETY, 2/21)....The Eagles have inked a long-term extension of their broadcast partnership with CBS Radio. In addition to coverage on WYSP-FM, the partnership will expand with game simulcasts on WIP-AM. The agreement also includes promotional support across CBS Stations in Philadelphia, including KYW, WPHT, WIP, WOGL and WYSP (Eagles).
