Breeders' Cup Challenge Expands To 49 Races, New Markets
Published February 14, 2008
The Breeders' Cup Challenge will be expanded from 24 races to a minimum of 49 races at 12 North American racing venues in '08. New markets and tracks for '08 include Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto; Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington; Suffolk Downs in Boston; Delaware Park in Wilmington; Calder Race Course near Miami; and Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey. The '08 Challenge will begin on July 5 at Monmouth Park, and races will be televised in more than 120 countries on ABC, ESPN, TVG and HRTV. The Challenge's "Win and You're In" provision automatically qualifies the winner of each of the races for a spot in the corresponding divisional race in the 14-race, $25.5M Breeders' Cup World Championships (Breeders' Cup).
