The Doctor Is In: Converse Launches Erving Spot For Shoe Release
Published February 13, 2008
Converse Monday began airing a 15-second TV spot featuring Basketball HOFer Julius Erving in the latest entry of the company's "Disruption" campaign, which launched in December to celebrate Converse's 100th anniversary. The spot features Erving in slow-motion game footage from a 76ers-Bulls game during the '85-86 season, and will continue to run on ESPN, Fox Sports and TNT through February 23. The spot will air on TNT during the net's coverage of the Sprite Slam Dunk contest on NBA All-Star Saturday Night. Converse on April 1 will re-issue the Pro Leather 1976 shoe, which Erving wore during his playing days. The shoe will retail for $70 (Converse).
