Blog Hound: Does June Trial Seal Sonics' Fate?

District Court Judge Marsha Pechman on Tuesday set a June 16 court date for the Sonics to attempt to break its Key Arena lease with the city of Seattle, effectively splitting the timeline between the Sonics' request for a March trial, and the city's request for an October date. Bloggers discuss whether the June date will send the Sonics to Oklahoma City, or whether the date is too close to the start of the '08-09 season for the move to happen this year.

“The NBA must hate to have this hanging over the NBA Finals (for the 6 people watching it these days, anyway), and if you add in the NBA as a defendant and the possibility of David Stern having to testify during the Finals, wow, that's just bad PR of Bush Administration-proportions.
